Falcon (Dawn) Pro – Discount Code Not Applying on Cart Page

Hi KS Team,

I'm new to both Shopify and Kondasoft, and I just purchased the Falcon (Dawn) Pro theme today. I chose it because of its simplicity and the many features it offers compared to the free Dawn template.

I have a quick question: how can I get the discount code form to apply the discount directly on the cart page?

I’ve already created a discount code in the Shopify admin. However, when I enter the code on the cart page, it redirects me to the next step (the payment page), and I have to re-enter the code there before it takes effect.

Ideally, I’d like customers to be able to enter the discount code right on the cart page, see the discount applied, and have it reflected in the estimated total before checkout. Is this possible with Falcon Pro, or is there a setting I need to enable?

Hi there,

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying our Shopify theme so far.

In fact, Shopify has just made it possible for discount codes to be validated in the cart (not the checkout). Prior to that, that was possible only on checkout or by using an external app with API access. However, we are adding it to the new version that we are just finishing it which will be released soon.

For your version, we will provide an update in the future, but for the moment, that is not possible.

But also, it's important to note that the current way, where the users enter their code and it gets validated on the checkout, is not a bad approach, because users are pushed to checkout in a sense. And after they validate the discount, they can simply get back to the store anytime. Based on our observations, it seems that the current approach works fine.
